Day 2: David and Goliath
We learned about a young boy named David. He was a hero of faith who trusted that the Lord would give him victory over a Philistine warrior named Goliath. He inspired others to trust the Lord’s promises, too.
We can trust the Lord to keep the promises he has made to us in his Word. Your children are heroes of faith as they find their strength and help in the Lord.
Day 2 memory treasure:
"The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped"
(Psalm 28:7).
These are some of the activities we enjoyed on Day 2!
Art
The younger kids created a scene of a stream to show where David found his stones. The older kids made a game out of rocks, which also reminded them of the stones David used against Goliath.
Games
Accuracy challenges reminded the children of how David defeated Goliath by trusting the Lord, not by using his own strength or skill.
Science
The kids got to see how small they would be compared to Goliath. They then used realistic slingshots to help them imagine what it would have been like for David to fight against Goliath.
