Day 1: God speaks to Samuel
We learned about a young boy named Samuel and how God called him to be his prophet in Israel. Samuel learned to listen to the Lord.
We listen to God through his Word, the Bible. There he speaks to every situation in our life. We learn why we have troubles in this life, and we learn about our Savior, Jesus. Listening to God’s Word, your kids are heroes of faith, too.
Day 1 memory treasure:
"Speak, Lord, your servant is listening" (1 Samuel 3:10).
Below are some of the activities we enjoyed on Day 1!
Art
Our younger kids made a starry nighttime background with a banner of our Bible treasure. The older kids painted a similar background and included a lamp stand in the design.
Games
The kids ran an obstacle course, pretending to be Samuel running to Eli in the middle of the night. The older kids also had a team bed-making race!
Science
The kids participated in fun listening activities that experimented with different sounds and decibels.
