In America, we tend to be fundamentally opposed to the idea of Big Brother watching everything we do. Sometimes this overflows into our spiritual life to the point that we think it is good and loving to leave individuals to themselves when it comes to their faith. "To each, his own," we reason. But God's Word turns our hearts toward the wandering in our lives and moves us to love them enough, not to be like Big Brother, but to be their brother and sister in Christ who wants them to rejoice again in God's faithful love for them.
