We are so used to light that it is troubling when the lights go out. But what if someone is used to the dark? Then the light might hurt a bit at first. Nonetheless, it would be silly to run away from it, as it helps us to see everything around us clearly. This is the same with Jesus, who is described as "the light of the world."
