What do you imagine a "saint" looks like? The word saint comes from the Latin "sanctus," which means "holy." God calls all who believe in Jesus' sacrifice for them "saints" because his sacrifice has done just that, made us holy in God's sight. Yet sometimes we will be hard pressed to identify a saint here in this world, as even believers struggle with trials, temptations, and sin. Being a Christian doesn't necessarily make life easier. For the saints who still journey through this life, God gives a glimpse of what is to come for all who believe in his Son. This Sunday, we hear the encouragement that God gives us when life isn't so glorious this side of heaven.
