The historical events of Palm Sunday illustrate that Jesus came to be the kind of king this world will never understand. He conquers his enemies by surrendering to them. He crushes his opposition by himself being crushed. His path to kingly exaltation begins with humiliation. Such is the kind of King we have who marches into battle as one of us and for all of us. Instead of being driven away from him in fear, we are drawn to him in faith. This humble King is our hope and certainty.
